NATURE OF WORK
This is senior level executive, managerial and technical work directing and coordinating the activities of Palm Tran's Planning division.
An employee in a position allocated to this class plans, organizes, directs all the activities of the Transportation Planning Division including; scheduling, bus stops and shelters, strategic planning, and research and analysis. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for carrying out long and short range transportation system planning initiatives and funding support. Focuses on strategic plan implementation that supports a comprehensive approach to meeting the transportation needs of the county; oversees the development of transportation system plans, transit route planning, evaluating proposed service adjustments, and coordinating with key agencies. Work will include representing Palm Tran at Public hearings and meetings, advisory boards and committees, other governmental agencies, and the public. Work is performed under the general direction of the Executive Director and is reviewed through conferences, reports and evaluation of results obtained.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Transportation, Urban Planning, Engineering, Business, Public Administration or related field; plus, eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in transit planning; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Experience must include five (5) years in a senior management capacity. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.

- Master’s Degree in Business or Public Administration or related field
