Under the general direction of the Building California Program Manager (SSM III) and the Deputy Building California Program Manager (SSM II), the Building CA Program Specialist will collaborate with program managers to verify and ensure the accurate submission of data for inclusion on the infrastructure project website (buildingca.ca.gov) for SB 1 funding programs in support of AB 2086. The incumbent will work to improve the quality of existing data through thorough QA/QC processes and streamline workflows to enhance operational efficiency. This role involves collecting, validating, and transforming data for map updates, as well as developing standard operating procedures for updating project information, outputs, and outcomes to ensure consistent and reliable reporting. The incumbent will also independently perform complex data analysis in response to ad-hoc research and reporting requests. Utilizing business intelligence software programs, the incumbent will query, validate, format, and organize structured and unstructured data to forecast trends and assess the potential impact of changes where existing knowledge or experience is limited. The Building CA Program Specialist will have responsibility for coordinating and managing complex research projects, which includes defining and creating new data models and visualizations to meet evolving information needs. Senior departmental management will rely on the incumbent as a prime resource and innovator in their field, with the responsibility to design and direct major, complex research projects to ensure the continued success of the SB 1 funding programs in alignment with AB 2086 requirements.
